​ARTIST STATEMENT​

 

Ceramics
 

Passionate about art and nature, I have always enjoyed exploring various forms of artistic expression. It was in Cégep, during a sculpture course, that I discovered working with clay. It was a revelation: I was immediately drawn to this art form, which transforms raw material and rekindles my childhood fascination with the earth. I love the organic and unpredictable nature of pottery. From shaping to the final firing, clay never ceases to surprise me, leading me to let go and allow the natural elements to perfect each piece.

I enjoy playing with shapes, lines, and contrasts. To do so, I frequently use the sgraffito technique, which consists of applying a thin layer of coloured underglaze before engraving an image, drawing, or pattern into it freehand. This process allows me to add a graphic dimension to my work, enriching its expressiveness and texture.

Paintings 
 

When I paint, inspiration is found in the details of everyday life: a beloved place, a fleeting emotion, a precious memory, a passing glance. Anything genuine and rooted in the present moment fuels my imagination.

Through painting, I seek to capture these fragments of life, soft, luminous, and sometimes melancholic and give them lasting form. Each painting becomes a quiet refuge, a space of memory and sensitivity where emotions find colour and moments linger in time.
