Through my pottery, I strive to bring art and beauty into everyday tasks. A bowl, a plate, a cup, can transform the humblest meal and re-connect us with mother earth who gave us the resources to create, not only the plate, but also the food it contains.
I like to play with contrasts, vibrant colours as well as the simplicity and force of black and white. Sometimes, I like to carve clean lines or geometric patterns on my pottery that brings out the raw and unpredictable side of clay.
Being a ceramist is about learning to work with water, air, heat and of course clay and making them your allies. Each of these elements influences the final result of every piece and this is what I find fascinating about pottery.
