​ARTIST STATEMENT

Richard Austin is a former art editor and graphic designer for advertising studios, magazines and newspapers as well as a indie-filmmaker, painter and photographer. Richard's abstract landscape and social commentary paintings focus on the simplification of nature, objects and social interaction. His acrylic painting have strong, symbolic design elements creating visual impact with an animated quality.
