ARTIST STATEMENT
I began painting only a few years ago and, since then, have discovered a creativity that continues to surprise me. I work with oils, acrylics, and sometimes a combination of both. I paint on canvas, masonite panels, and occasionally antique ironing boards, whose history and character often become part of the finished work.
Without really planning it, many of my paintings have come to explore a common theme: solitary figures experiencing moments of quiet, reflection, and presence, most often in connection with nature. I am particularly drawn to atmospheric scenes where light, silence, and space invite contemplation.
Rather than telling a specific story, I hope to create a meeting place between the artwork and the viewer. Through colour, atmosphere, and simplicity, I seek to evoke moments of presence, introspection, and the quiet beauty found in everyday life.
