ARTIST STATEMENT

 

My work begins with curiosity. I am drawn to the details that often go unnoticed: the texture of a river stone, the movement of water, the presence of a raven and the traces left behind by memory and experience.

Working in mixed media, I use acrylics, charcoal, coloured pencil, collage and translucent materials to create layered works that invite closer observation. Through transparency, mark making and experimentation, I explore the connections between nature, memory and human experience.

Whether creating intimate works on paper or larger installations, I see art as a way of paying attention, making meaning and fostering connection.
