Theo’s artistic inclinations began in grade school in his native Romania being enrolled in modeling in clay.
In 1970 living near Rome, Italy for few months before coming to Canada he had the opportunity to admire the majestic art of the city.
Vacationing in London, England in spring 2004 he got lucky to visit at the Tate Museum the Collection of Constantin Brancusi, famous Romanian sculptor which made a great impression on him!
Retuning to Ottawa he began passionately visiting local Studio Tours.
Finally, in 2008 he was soapstone carving at Indian Trail Carving in North Gower, Ottawa School of Art, Haliburton School of Arts and also icecarving at Winterlude.
In 2009 he joined other professional sculptors for carving marble at Carving Studio in Rutland, Vermont and participating in the Stone Symposium a.k.a. “carving camp”.
Since then he regularly participated in solo sculpture exhibitions and through the Network of Sculptors.
