Eau-forte / Etching

MARY BARANOWSKI-LOWDEN

Atelier · Studio | Carte · Map #6

310 chemin Wakefield Heights,

Wakefield

My work is often narrative, the imagery drawn from my own life makes a visual imprint and resurfaces in my etchings Recently, I have been fortunate to do some interesting and inspiring travel. The influence of different people, places and cultures has expanded my artistic vocabulary. Cultural elements and historical reference gently probe my choices of composition, technique and printing when they interplay with elements of nature, textiles and decorative arts. I feel my prints are most successful when they capture not only the memory but also the essence of the experience. I work to explore and exploit the unique qualities of etching on copper to further develop the image and to bring concept and process into balance.
